About Us

Hi, my name is Victoria and I'm the new owner of The Bottle of Hastings. Hastings born and raised, I absolutely love this town.

I first realised I had a passion for wine in my early 20s. I wanted to talk about it more than everyone else around me (lots of glazed eyes was a subtle sign).

My interest led to working in a satellite cellar door on the Gold Coast in Australia; I gave wine tastings to tourists and locals in Mount Tambourine. Far more interesting than teaching psychology.

Here I am now the owner of my own wine shop and studying for my WSET diploma, having completed the WSET Level 2 and 3 qualifications and gaining experience as a Tour Guide at Sedlescombe vineyard and Ridgeview in Ditchling.

What's new? I've selected all of the wines personally from years of following producers like Pieter Walser of Blank Bottle in Western Cape, South Africa. He is a legend and a great story teller.

"a lady came to my house... to buy wine. She asked for anything but Shiraz. “I don’t drink Shiraz”, were her exact words. I poured her a glass of wine. She loved it and bought 3 cases. It was a straight Shiraz." Pieter Walser

Combining my love of wine and psychology, I'm wanting to showcase female wine makers and some really quirky interesting mavericks in the industry. I'm so excited by the English wine scene and will be expanding my offering. Let us also not forget about Sherry! Sherry flights arriving soon.

Come and chat to me about what you love over a glass of something delicious, or perhaps a flight of wine with a decadent cheeseboard and the poshest olives that have ever passed your lips!

Did I mention Champagne? I mean English Sparkling!
