Malbec Classic Organic, Bodega Cecchin, Mendoza, 2019
O - V
At Bodega Cecchin they make wine and play rugby. This is a fresh, honest and authentic expression of Argentina’s famous red variety, from vines high up in the Andes. Pure, dark, racy fruit fills the glass, your nose and your mouth. The wines are lightly filtered, but unfined and there is no oak. This sets them apart from the vast majority of Argentinean reds. Natural yeasts and only a sniff of sulphur too. The intention is to represent the terroir and capture the essence of the fruit which they achieve most ably and tastefully.
Pair with: Steak, of course, but also salads, grilled cheese, baked squash
