Camille Malbec, Chateau du Cedre, Cahors, 2020
O – V - Ve
Easy drinking and approachable aren’t words normally associated with rustic, tannic and ‘takes ages to mature’ Cahors but Ch du Cedre prove all that wrong. There is the classic abundant dark fruit, and enough tannin to know you are in Cahors but it’s knitted together with a smoothness, freshness and eminent drinkability. Good for lunch or dinner, whack it in a jug and chugs away.
Pair with: Goats cheeses, grilled meats and duck of all kinds
