The vines for Le Mie Origini (My Origins) are perfectly elevated and benefit from a cool sea breeze. Alessandro believes Catarratto can express terroir like no other. The grapes are macerated for one night then into large wooden ‘botti’; no SO2 added until bottling. Deep in colour, the palate is round and rich, the expansive mouthfeel perfectly balanced by salty acid. A complex umami bomb - juicy peach, spiced apricot, fresh hay and ginger – an aromatic profile reminiscent of the best white Châteauneuf-du-Papes. The finish is long, taut and salivating, this is wine in the purest Sicilian form.
