Julius Caesar use to love a Grillo, this indigenous Sicilian grape varietal that means “cricket” in Italian. Think of Grillo as a fuller, funky alternative to Pinot Grigio. Young and well-finished, it recalls the territory and the sea of Sicily with iodine notes. On the nose you get summer, lemons and green apple. On the palate it’s a fresh, light white with nutty, fruit-forward flavours.
