Christophe Muret of Domaine de Castelnau used to farm melons before he began growing grapes in1997.Located close to Pézenas, halfway between the Massif Central and the Mediterranean Sea, the 160-hectare estate benefits from fresh sea breezes, which help to preserve acidity and freshness in the grapes. 

This wine is a deep red in colour with violet highlights. The nose displays ripe red berry and balsamic aromas along with fragrant camphor, eucalyptus and spice. On the rounded palate, chocolate and liquorice notes lead into a surprising freshness and velvety, well-integrated tannins. Long-lasting grilled mocha characters linger on the finish.
